It’s true, I officially have a toddler. I’m sure I sat in a time machine and flashed my way to having a one year old, well after the first few long months of course which I think a lot of new mothers can attest to. It’s true, you feel like you’re a human milk machine running on about 2 hours of sleep, all the while trying to get back to your “normal” life. The funny part is, that once “normal” life quickly fades and is gradually replaced with a whole new normal and you don’t know how or when it happened. One minute you’re wondering If you’ll get a solid nights sleep without wrestling the – oh so brilliant – idea of bringing babe into bed because you’re too exhausted to get up one more time, but somehow find just enough energy. And then the next moment, you’re humming your favorite tunes while making your husbands favorite meal and glance over and see your “toddler” entertaining herself by flipping through the pages of her favorite book. Which leaves you asking the all too familiar questions, “Where did time go? How did she get so big?”
Even with all the exhaustion, stress, and frustrations I can say it has brought me one most rewarding and enjoyable times of my life. Being a mom is one of the best gifts God grants us women and I wouldn’t trade one of those super overwhelming days for anything. God has blessed my little family beyond measures, and for that I am very grateful.
–A huge shout out and special thanks to Amanda Metz (www.amandametz.com) for capturing our little girl on her very special day! She was also the one by our sides the entire day of the delivery and we couldn’t be more thankful for her in more ways than she knows !
What a relief, we are finally done with Scarlett’s nursery! There are a few small items we still need to purchase, such as the changing pad and baskets for the closet, but overall it’s finished. Our vision was to make her room feel apart of our home so we didn’t go completely crazy with a theme. However, if I had to describe the nursery, we were going for a clean chic – using grays, whites, and touches of blush pinks with fun patterns throughout. The bedding was the first thing we picked out, which I fell in love with, and it set the stage for the rest of the nursery. We did a lot of the projects on our own which helped cut costs and also made it more personal. We are extremely pleased with how everything turned out and are excited to share!

Happy New Year Everyone! 2013 was a very exciting year for Matt and I. We bought our first home and took a huge leap to follow Matt’s dream and pursue Copperwood Kennels (Spring 2014 doors will be opening). We are so blessed to not only have each other but have the love the support of our family and friends who truly helped ring in a great 2013 year!
To start off the New Year right, Matt and I have an extra special announcement to make, enjoy,
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
